Save the Radio!

Formed in the winter of 2007 out of the ashes of the Tampa cover-group Audioband, former members Shawn Scheller, Mike MacKewice and G.Gerry Pilkey set out to form the band that would come to be known as : Save The Radio! Performing originally as trio and later with the addition of Dave Rhode on bass/guitars and vocals, STR displayed a wide spectrum of cover material performing the most notable entertainment complexes in Tampa Bay while singer/guitarist/synth player Scheller set out to establishing and writing the sound of Save The Radio!

After a couple months Dave Rhode left to persue other interests in and out of music, Bassist/Songwiter/Engineer Michael J Marino transplanted to Florida from New York to complete the line-up. Together they would establish the Save The Radio! name as the leading Cover-Original Act to be booked by all top Florida agents perfroming such events as: MLB World Series Finale,98Rock's Liquid Lunch,TV32Mor/98Rock Stage@Guavaween, IceFest(opening the Lightning Hockey Season)@St Pete Times Forum, SuperBOWL XLIII, BudBowl w/3Doors Down & Snoop Dogg, opening up for Actor/Comedian Dane Cook on Jan 31,2009 & Gasperilla Parade. After some 250+ shows in a year, STR got tight fast. 2009, saw the band concentrate on their original-music with the late spring 09 release of their debut self-titled EP, Citing musical differences, STR parted ways with drummer G.Gerry Pilkey and welcomed drummer/programmer Tony Rook and percusionist R. Shooter Khoury to the unit and immediatly got started on songs for a follow up EP due in late summer 09' and a full length release by years end put the In addition, STR recently signed with National Booking Agency Lane Productions and plan to take the show on the road in the US and Canada in 2009 & 2010.

Save The Radio! An Irish-American Rock Band from Tampa Bay, Florida performing a live style dubbed as "electro-acoustica": a fusion of acoustic instruments, pre-amp effects and software technology. S.T.R!'s sound blends elements of 90's College Rock, Dark Wave, Power Pop and White Soul to establish their unique identity in the Music Industry. Their original material draws comparisons to Shawn Smith(Brad/Satchel),Gavin DeGraw,Coldplay,Social Distortion,Tonic,Theory of a Dead Man,Tears For Fears and Abbey-Road era Beatles.
